Pvt. James D. Means, Fifth Georgia Reserves (Referred to as Militia at the time of Sherman’s March to the Sea.)

Gustavus W. Smith, Commander of the First Division, Georgia Militia. Smith was also the commander of the Confederate Army on the second day of the Battle of Fair Oaks after Joseph Johnston was wounded.

Henry C. Wayne, Georgia’s Adjutant and Inspector General. West Point educated and Mexican War Veteran. He was chief administrator of the Georgia Militia during the war and led the Georgia Militia in a few skirmishes.
